South Park Commons is a community of technologists ideating and validating what to build next. We believe this shouldn’t be done alone. Our members range from exited founders and highly-cited researchers to new graduates and first-time entrepreneurs. Brent is an investor and advisor to data startups. Previously he co-founded SafeGraph and helped the company grow to over $20M ARR. Brent was also on the founding team of Siftery (acquired by G2Crowd) and early team of LiveRamp (NYSE: RAMP). He holds B.S. in MS&E and M.B.A. from Stanford University.

I am a startup founder in artificial intelligence, with a variety of research and product experiences on autonomous driving, videos, cameras, maps, advertisements, etc. My research aims at building lifelong autonomous agents. Previously, I worked at Google DeepMind, Baidu Apollo, Facebook AI Research, CMU Robotics, Apple, Google Streetview, and Comcast Labs DC. I received my Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Maryland College Park. My PhD thesis is spatial perception from visual and linguisitc information.

Michael Lai's six word story is “failed professional athlete, striving education entrepreneur.” He is currently building Tinycare, a network of micro daycares aiming to fix the childcare crisis. Previously, he built Promise, a nonprofit venture studio for early childhood development, Minerva Project, Google.org, and competed on Harvard's varsity golf team (where he was decidedly NOT the next Tiger Woods). His passion for education starts from the classroom — 6 years volunteer teaching preschool, elementary, and middle school.

I love to build! (this is my MVP bio, I will have a better version up soon ;)) Am building a modern, intuitive CAD software for the construction industry... with Copilot. Looking for advice and feedback on my project. Very interested in hearing from people with experience scaling productivity tools. Have strong experience in 3D programming (ThreeJS), and building out focused LLM "agents".
