South Park Commons is a community of technologists ideating and validating what to build next. We believe this shouldn’t be done alone. Our members range from exited founders and highly-cited researchers to new graduates and first-time entrepreneurs. What unites us is ambition, ability, and a mutual commitment to helping each other navigate -1 to 0.

We focus on highly technical builders in the -1 to 0. Over the last decade, we have had 1,000 members join us to start companies, pursue research, and work on other ambitious projects.

I'm excited about manufacturing (CAD, robotics, etc), and new ways of building backend services. Previously at Facebook, Oculus, and a startup building radiology software. Lives with my wife and 3 kids in Piedmont, CA.

CS from MIT. Previously tech lead and engineering manager at GoDaddy. Now I’m building my startup, Nira, full-time and excited to be part of this community.

Currently leads Apple’s Applied Acoustics ML team, building next-gen audio features across the ecosystem. Previously cofounded Syng and served as Head of HomePod Software Engineering, where he helped launch the 2nd-gen HomePod.
Noah
Noah is an applied AI lead at OpenAI, focused on turning frontier models into real-world impact. Previously co-founded Eureka and led product at Forward after starting out as a software engineer. Former South Park Commons fellow.
James
James is a Vancouver-based entrepreneur currently building Durable. He previously founded VisualCV after building a diverse portfolio of businesses, from window‑cleaning ventures to software startups.
Arushi
Previously Computer Science @ Stanford University and Infrastructure @ Reddit; interested in AI / ML applications in creative technology and artistic marketplaces, security and infrastructure engineering, improving productivity for builders, composition and sound design
Waseem
I'm a cofounder of Pilot, a modern finance team offering the best bookkeeping, tax, and CFO services for growing businesses. I'm an engineer by background and have cofounded and sold a couple of companies with friends I met while studying at MIT. In 2011, Ksplice was acquired by Oracle, and Zulip was acquired by Dropbox in 2014.
Deon
Deon is the Founder and Executive Chairman of Forethought, the leading generative AI platform for customer support automation. Previously served as CEO, scaling the company over seven years. An early engineer at Pure Storage and Dropbox, he brings deep technical expertise to building AI-first enterprise products.
Andrew
Software engineer, previously worked at Figma on the product and the engine, Berkeley CS. Interested in computer graphics, computer vision, and machine learning.
