Great ideas rarely emerge from isolation

South Park Commons is a community of technologists ideating and validating what to build next. We believe this shouldn’t be done alone. Our members range from exited founders and highly-cited researchers to new graduates and first-time entrepreneurs. What unites us is ambition, ability, and a mutual commitment to helping each other navigate -1 to 0.

I am working on tackling robotics and AI by throwing out almost all of the existing paradigms. Instead, I want to develop and refine ideas around artificial life, virtual biology, etc. This will draw heavily on simulations, and biological principles. Furthermore, I am seeking to stand up a new type of organization to do this, a cross between a venture-studio, research-lab, and a traditional start-up. Bio: Angel investor and technologist, 20+ years of experience, Apple (Autonomous Vehicles), CTO @ Voyage (Autonomous Vehicles, acquired by Cruise), Director R&D @ CTRL-Labs, (Brain Machine Interfaces, acquired by Meta), US Army Research Labs / Naval Underwater Warfare Center / RADAR/SONAR imaging and autonomous systems / Neurosys computational neuroscience. (BSEE @ GMU 2004 / MSEE @ George Washington University 2007)

I'm an ML engineer that's worked on speech recognition (training embedded acoustic models, semi-supervised learning, accented languages). I also love building random projects with friends like a 3D version of Zoom, a collapsible water filled dumbbell, and an augmented reality NFT collection. Right now I'm exploring LLM's + ecommerce and learning how to breakdance
